Spanish Heat in Thailand: from a bar on Koh Phi Phi to Sukhumvit 24
It started on an island, not in the capital. Scubar in February, Pink Club in Bangkok a month later, and a Songkran edition on a Monday.
Spanish Heat is a reggaeton night from the Netherlands, built for a crowd that mixes Spanish speakers, internationals and locals on one floor. In 2026 that crowd turned out to exist in Thailand too. Not first in Bangkok, as most people assume, but on a small island in the Andaman Sea.
It started on Koh Phi Phi
The first Asian edition ran on 20 February 2026 at Scubar, an indoor cocktail bar on Koh Phi Phi. The island has a permanent international population — people who work there, dive there, or came for two weeks three years ago and stayed — plus travellers who land for a few nights, and the Thai crowd who live and work there year-round. All three were in the room. Two editions have run at Scubar since.
Bangkok, a month later
The first Bangkok edition followed on 21 March 2026 at Pink Club on Sukhumvit 24, one of the busiest nightlife strips in the city. The club had just opened. The fit was immediate: they lead with pink in their marketing and so do we, and the door policy was woman-friendly from the start, which is exactly the room Spanish Heat wants. Over 200 guests came to that first night. Three editions have run there since, roughly one a month.
The Songkran edition
April brought Songkran, Thai New Year. That edition landed on a Monday, which anywhere else would be a problem and in Thailand during Songkran is not — the whole country is out. Same music policy, same night, on a day of the week the Dutch editions never touch.
Who is on the floor
The audience is the same mix as in the Netherlands, in different proportions: locals, Spanish speakers, tourists passing through, and internationals and international students living in the city. Nobody has to know anyone to have a good night. That is the point of the format, and it travels better than the music policy alone would suggest.
How it is organised
The Thai editions run with a local partner who handles the venue, the production and the operation on the ground. Spanish Heat brings the concept, the music, the flyers and the marketing. Tickets go through Megatix TH, and the door is open for anyone who did not plan ahead.
What stays the same
Latin, reggaeton and hits: old-school classics through to the new releases, with the international sing-alongs and guilty pleasures that always land. The rule is the same on every continent: the floor decides, and the crowd is part of the set. The dress code (casual and sexy, in whatever you feel yourself in) travels too, and so does the feeling that you can arrive alone and leave with a crew.
What's next in Asia
Koh Phi Phi and Bangkok are the base, and the plan is to keep building from there without rushing it. New dates land first on the Thailand account (@spanish.heat.thailand), and the Heat Club sign-up on this site sends the presale before it goes public.
